essays. stories. poems.
kate is a writer and consultant living in portland, oregon. she grew up in the rural Midwest. rural like not-a-stoplight-in-the-county rural.
just add water represents her move back into intentional creative practice. She is happy to find creative spaces like workshop and retreat as both the familiar places she remembers from long ago and as new places that have grown in their approach to anti-racism, anti-capitalism, and collective liberation.
currently, kate is developing a project composed of essays, stories, and poems with the working title Recipes for Being Human. this projects reflects on the recipes, ingredients, and techniques for being human. you know, like a cookbook but not.
